Community Kindness

With the federal shutdown and reduction in state-funded food programs, the Loft food pantry has been feeling the strain. After our call for support, our community stepped up in a big way. We received 3,700 pounds of food donated through Scouting for Food by Boy Scout Troop 30 at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, along with generous support from the Knights of Columbus. Local artists at the Boro Bazaar dedicated their recent event to benefit The Loft Community Kitchen. And the kindness didn’t stop there. At a recent food bank night—where we served over 250 households—a community member felt moved to action and made an anonymous cash donation on the spot. Moments like this remind us that generosity comes in many forms, all with the same goal: caring for our neighbors.
